Welcome to Kindergarten at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School. We are SO excited to be starting a new school year together, and we look forward to working in partnership with you to provide a wonderful and engaging learning opportunity for your child. We will be using this paperless method of sharing news and information. Please sign up for e-mail alerts in order to receive new posts so that you can be kept up to date on our Kinder News! Mme. Tomorrow will be the last day for library exchange. Please bring back any books that your child might have at home, or pay any outstanding fees. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter, Mme. McCann, Mrs. Bean, Mrs. Parnell and Mrs. Belcourt
We will be sending home blankets to be washed over the long weekend as well as students change of clothes. Please change appropriately for summer months. Also please check sizing as children do grow. If your child hasn't brought clothing home, it is more than likely because their change of clothes is appropriate for the summer weather.
Mme. McCann, Mrs. Bean, Mrs. Parnell and Mrs. Belcourt.
As the summer weather is upon us, the following are some recommendations to have your child dressed and prepared for the season. - We recommend that your child has a water bottle that they can fill up. After a lengthy recess outside in the heat, many of the children come in quite thirsty. We tend to fill up water bottles more than once a day. - Sunscreen and a hat: This is important in order to protect your child from the high UV rays that we are now getting. You can put sunscreen on your child in the morning before school. This will help in them being protected for morning recess which can already be quite warm! If you do bring some sunscreen for them in a ziplock bag, we can keep it in their blue cubby bins and they can reapply as needed. - Footwear: As the weather is hot, many of your children want to wear sandals or flip flops. We recommend footwear that has proper grip as we do go for walks around the school yard and are playing on the play structure. We do want your child's feet to be protected as well. The more exposed their feet are, the more risk of them getting hurt. Many thanks for your cooperation in this matter, Mme. McCann & Mrs. Parnell
As we look ahead to the month of June, we are looking for some helpful parents who could provide us some playdough. We have the following weeks open. If you feel inclined to make some, please write us a note in your child's communication book.
Thanks for all help,
Mme. McCann, Mrs. Bean, Mrs. Parnell and Mrs. Belcourt
We have decided to make an airplane in our classroom for our dramatic play centre. As are in the process of making it truly unique, we ask for any donations related to travel such as old travel brochures, old and used tickets, maps, etc.
We appreciate your help with this,
Mme. McCann, Mrs. Bean, Mrs. Belcourt and Mrs. Parnell
